Noida Aqua Line Adds Late Night Trains

As reported by Amar Ujala on 31 October, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation has extended Aqua Line services, with the last train from Noida Sector 51 now leaving at 11:25 pm and extra departures at 10:20 pm, 10:40 pm and 11 pm. Until now, Aqua Line trains ran from 6 am to about 10 pm. Peak-hour frequency on weekdays is also being raised from 1 November, which Amar Ujala put at every 6 minutes and The Indian Express and Mint, in earlier reports on the plan, put at every 6 minutes 35 seconds, down from 7 minutes 30 seconds. Saturday and Sunday timetables, at about 10 and 15 minutes between trains, stay as before. The Indian Express reported that the 21-station line recorded its highest ever daily ridership of 1,05,358 on 23 October.

This development matters because many Aqua Line riders work late shifts in Delhi and Noida and reach Sector 51 off the Blue Line well after 10 pm. A later last train removes the need for an expensive cab or auto for the final leg to Greater Noida. Shorter peak gaps also matter on a line whose daily ridership has just crossed 1 lakh.

In our expert opinion, this is a sound, low-cost step, because it uses the existing fleet more fully instead of waiting for new trains. The real test is whether NMRC can hold the tighter peak timetable without bunching or delays as crowds grow. We expect Aqua Line weekday ridership to cross 1.1 lakh on at least one day before 31 December 2026. Confidence: medium.

This is important for our readers because late commuters returning via the Blue Line can now plan to connect at Sector 51 for trains up to 11:25 pm. Check the exact last-train time at your station, since timings further down the line will be later than the Sector 51 departure. On weekends, keep planning around the older 10 and 15 minute gaps.
