Gurugram Metro Meets Signalling Bidders 3 November
According to the latest updates, Gurugram Metro Rail Limited will hold a consultation with prospective bidders on 3 November, from 3 pm to 5 pm, for the signalling, train control, telecom and security systems package, called AST-01, on the Millennium City Centre to Cyber City corridor. As reported by Dalimss News, the notice was issued on 28 October, and GMRL has tentatively planned to publish the tender in December 2026. The package covers design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of CBTC signalling and related systems, plus a three-year defect period and seven further years of maintenance. The meeting will take place at GMRL’s office at HMRTC Depot 2 near AIT Chowk, with an online option for remote bidders, and it does not itself start the procurement.
This is significant as signalling is one of the longest-lead items on any new metro line, and early talks with suppliers can reduce delays later. The choice of CBTC will decide how frequently trains can run on a corridor meant to serve Old Gurugram, Palam Vihar and Cyber City. For suppliers, it is an early look at one of the larger signalling packages likely to come up in north India.
We believe GMRL is right to consult the market before fixing qualification rules, because overly strict criteria on Indian metro tenders have often left only one or two bidders. The December tender date is tentative, and systems tenders often slip when civil work is behind. We expect the AST-01 tender to be published only in the first quarter of 2027, not in December 2026. Confidence: low.
This development is significant for anyone who supplies signalling, telecom or security systems, so register for the 3 November session and read the AST-01 notice on GMRL’s website. Gurugram residents will see no change to their commute from this step. This report rests on a single news source, so check the official notice for details.
